South Australia shuts border with Victoria as 150 people identified as contacts of positive cases

South Australia will reintroduce COVID-19 restrictions and shut its border with Victoria from midnight tonight, Premier Steven Marshall has announced.

Mr Marshall said the rising number of cases in NSW, Victoria and Queensland has meant "pre-emptive action" is necessary to prevent the spread of the virus into the state.

From midnight tonight, level six restrictions will come into place with Victoria, meaning people who have visited identified hotspots in Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Bacchus Marsh will need to undergo 14 days of quarantine.
