Francois Ghassibe sentenced over road rage death of 70yo in Adelaide CBD

The family of a 70-year-old man who was killed during a road rage incident in Adelaide's CBD say they have been robbed of justice after his killer was sentenced to at least four and a half years behind bars. Francois Joseph Ghassibe, 32, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 70-year-old Brian Maxwell Richardson when he delivered a "flurry of blows" to the man's head and kicked him in the chin during a road rage dispute in the middle of Adelaide's West Terrace in April 2022.

Appearing at Adelaide Supreme Court for sentencing on Monday, the 32-year-old was unmoved as he was sentenced to six years and nine months imprisonment with a non parole period of four years and six months, which was backdated to his initial arrest.
