Concern over shortage of trainee doctors in Adelaide as pandemic restricts overseas recruitment

There are concerns Adelaide's metropolitan hospitals face a shortage of trainee doctors, with reports a contingency plan has been investigated to limit the opening hours at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital emergency department.


SA Health recruits junior doctors from overseas every year to work in the public hospital system.


The ongoing pandemic has hampered the process this year.
