A 22-year-old man has been charged over the alleged hit-and-run of a police officer in Adelaide's inner west early on New Year's Day.
The Adelaide man allegedly drove over a police officer's foot while trying to avoid being breath-tested about 1:00am yesterday on Henley Beach Road at Mile End.
The male police officer was taken by ambulance to the Wakefield Hospital suffering minor injuries.
Police yesterday called for the driver of the white Mazda sedan to come forward after they attended several addresses without being able to confirm his identity.
"From a risk perspective, we have particular procedures as to how we set up RBT sites [and] how we engage with members of the public during those sites and every now and then for whatever reason things will go wrong," he said.
"But in a general sense, we don't have very many injuries as a result of RBT sites."
About 6,000 alcohol breath tests were conducted on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day in South Australia, with 56 people returning a positive result for alcohol.
Of 360 drug tests, 26 people returned positive samples.
